National Family Research of Japan 2008 (NFRJ08) dataset is now available from Social Science Japan Data Archive (SSJDA) by the University of Tokyo, Institute of Social Science, as Survey Number 0817. See the following hyperlinks:

I am introducing Japanese interfaces from the SSJDA site, because SSJDA does not offer English information about NFRJ08. Although the NFRJ08 dataset is available via the data download system ”SSJ Direct”, it is unfortunately excluded from the English interface of SSJ Direct. They may be unreadable for users unfamiliar with Japanese words, but, …… anyway, ”817” is the number indicating the NFRJ08 dataset.

[2012-01-13] Japan Sociological Society (日本社会学会) released the new version (9.6) of Bibliography of Japanese Sociology (社会学文献情報データベース).
Differences from Version 9.5 are the following:
New records from 2010 registration (977) and from Japanese academic journals (3,876);
data correction (3,981);
deletion of doubled records (32).
The BJS Database now contains 110,348 records.

The second report of NFRJ08 (National Family Research of Japan, 2008) was published. It consists of four volumes:

1. 家族と仕事 = Family and Work
2. 世代間関係の動態 = Dynamics of Intergenerational Relationships
3. 家族形成と育児 = Family Formation and Child Care
4. 階層・ネットワーク = Social Stratification / Social Networks

Each volume contains articles by the members of the project based on results from analyses of NFRJ08 data, plus documents and materials about the NFRJ08 project.
