The conference theme is “Embracing the Future: Open Science in the U.S. Federal Context and Beyond” and its goals are to :

  • Showcase the past, present, and future of open science initiatives with relevance to U.S. federal agencies and international partners
  • Highlight synergistic connections across the web of stakeholders who enact and support open science initiatives across the research lifecycle
  • Promote systems thinking by illuminating and connecting activities across the major components of the research system: technology infrastructure, community-building, rewards and incentives, and policy-making and implementation
  • Foster a warm and welcoming environment for all community members to have opportunities to contribute
  • Offer a dynamic and interactive event with the chance to forge new connections
