SCECSAL 2024: Transforming Libraries, Empowering Communities

Standing Conference of Eastern, Central and Southern African Library and Information Associations (SCECSAL) is a regional forum for information and library associations in Africa. The organization has origins in the East African Library Association (EALA) and now is one of the largest and fastest growing professional organizations in Africa.

The theme for SCECSAL 2024 is “Transforming Libraries, Empowering Communities.” This year’s conference aims to provide attendees with educational workshops, training sessions, and opportunities for sharing diverse opinions and perspectives on the most effective ways to transform libraries across Africa. Christopher Everett is the social sciences communications intern at Sage. He is an incoming J.D. candidate at Duke University School of Law and a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. With a strong passion for the interplay of law, policy, and communications, Christopher seeks to bridge the gap between these fields through insightful communication and analysis.
