Rachael Leitch is a lecturer in English Language, Linguistics and Literature at the University Centre in Blackpool. She has extensive experience in working with young people and adults in a wide range of educational settings including secondary education, alternative provisions, further and higher education. Her areas of expertise include English language and applied linguistics, contextual and textual analysis, stylistics, sociolinguistics, language and identity, and critical discourse analysis. Leitch's research interests are socially oriented and focus on employing methodologies such as ethnographic research and narrative inquiry to address social biases and inequalities. She is currently researching widening participation within English studies provisions in Europe, and is also engaged in community-based research, which aims to address barriers to arts participation for young people and marginalized groups in seaside towns.
