Monika McDermott is a professor of political science at Fordham University. She studies voting behavior, political psychology and public opinion; her current research focuses on the way that masculine and feminine personality traits affect Americans' political behavior and attitudes. Her book Masculinity, Femininity, and American Political Behavior was published in 2016. David R. Jones is a professor of political science at Baruch College and The Graduate Center, City University of New York. He is the author of 2001's Political Parties and Policy Gridlock in American Government and coauthor of 2009's Americans, Congress, and Democratic Responsiveness: Public Evaluations of Congress and Electoral Consequences.
