Book Review: Restoring the Innovative Edge

July 29, 2012 1533

Olav Sorenson of the Yale School of Management reviewed Jerald Hage’s “Restoring the Innovative Edge: Driving the Evolution of Science and Technology” in the June 2012 issue of Administrative Science Quarterly (ASQ). To see the latest ASQ book reviews, click here.

Professor Sorenson writes:

The sky is falling! Jerald Hage’s latest book opens with an alarming set of statistics suggesting that America has lost its supremacy in innovation. He then proceeds to outline a broad vision for how America might regain its edge by embracing more radical forms of innovation, and he provides detailed ideas for how this vision could be implemented. His recommendations range broadly from the micro-level of team formation within firms and research institutions to the macro-level of national innovation policies.
