Deadline Nears for NSF Postdoctoral Research Fellowships in SBE

January 3, 2023 3492

The National Science Foundation has announced the Directorate for Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences (SBE) Postdoctoral Research Fellowships. This initiative seeks to encourage early career independence by supporting individuals’ research or training goals. Proposals must address scientific questions within the SBE’s scope, either in fundamental research in the SBE sciences or broadening participation in the SBE sciences.

The program will award 15-20 proposals depending on funding availability and proposal quality, and the total anticipated funding amount is $3 million. Total awards will be $160,000, consisting of a $65,000 stipend and a $15,000 annual fellowship.

Proposals must be sent in by individuals rather than organizations, and there is no limit to the amount of proposals per organization. They will be reviewed through an Ad hoc review and/or panel review based on intellectual quality and broader impacts.

The full proposal deadline is Jan. 10, 2023.
