Christopher Scanlon is associate dean (academic) in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at La Trobe University. He is also a writer and commentator whose work has been published in The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Australian, The Punch, The Courier-Mail, The Canberra Times, Crikey, Business Spectator, The Monthly, Overland and Arena Magazine, which he co-edited for eight years.
