The blog is open to contributions from anyone – its partners and members all over the world, researchers, policymakers, funders, students, think tanks, government agencies – interested in how the social sciences and other disciplines can contribute to social transformation and change for the better.

Of the top 27 national social science research institutes in India, the three in Gujarat could face a financial crunch. Gujarat government has apparently discontinued grant to Sardar Patel Institute of Economic and Social Research, Gujarat Institute of Development Research, both in Ahmedabad, and Centre for Social Studies in Surat. This could hit the research activities at these institutes with which many eminent research scholars from within the country and abroad are associated.
