New Thought Leadership Webinar Series Opens with Regional Looks at Research Impact

November 9, 2023 18749

Research impact will be the focus of a new webinar series from Epigeum, which provides online courses for universities and colleges. The series aims to present thought leadership within the academic community, and in the first webinars Epigeum will investigate the skills and requirements of effective engagement, evaluation, and evidence-based research impact across disciplines. (Epigeum was recently acquired by Sage, the parent of Social Science Space.)

The first webinar in the series, on November 15, will examine research impact in the United Kingdom and Europe through a conversation with Ged Hall of the University of Leeds and Lucas Zinner of the University of Vienna. Ged is an academic development consultant in research impact at Leeds, where he was co-author of the Engaged for Impact Strategy. Zinner is currently the head of Research Services and Career Development at Vienna, having spent 25 years working in research or research-related institutions.

The webinar starts at 11:00 a.m. UTC on Wednesday, November 15. Sign up below.

The second webinar, on November 29, will look at research impact in Australia and New Zealand. Guests are Tamika Heiden, Faith Welch, Julie Ward and Lia Sherwood.

This webinar starts at noon AEDT on November 29.

This ongoing webinar series will include focus events on a variety of topics across Epigeum’s research, support and wellbeing, and study courses. Each event will include question time for audience members and will be recorded for future viewing. Past webinars and videos are hosted on Epigeum’s YouTube page.

Sage, the parent of Social Science Space, is a global academic publisher of books, journals, and library resources with a growing range of technologies to enable discovery, access, and engagement. Believing that research and education are critical in shaping society, 24-year-old Sara Miller McCune founded Sage in 1965. Today, we are controlled by a group of trustees charged with maintaining our independence and mission indefinitely.
