David Coombe, pictured, is director of research and innovation at the London School of Economics. He leads a team that manage all aspects of externally funded research, the REF and HEIF. Previously he was director of research services at Kent, head of administration at the Kent Business School, and held various posts at the University of Kent and Swansea University. Horatio Mortimer is research and business engagement officer at LSE.
