Dara Kelly and Jordyn Hrenyk

Dara Kelly (pictured) is an assistant professor of Indigenous business at the Beedie School of Business, Simon Fraser University. She is from the Leq’á:mel First Nation, part of the Stó:lō Coast Salish, and teaches in the Executive MBA in Indigenous Business and Leadership program, and on Indigenous business environments within full-time and part-time MBA programs. Jordyn Hrenyk began a PhD program at the Beedie School of Business in September 2019. She is a second-year, post-comps PhD candidate in the Strategy specialization.

A Call to Decolonize Business Schools

The authors call for business schools to re-evaluate the symbols we are promoting. Who are we elevating? Which ideologies? Specifically, we ask that business schools do the work to not just Indigenize (add to), but decolonize (unlearn).
