Richard F. Heller is an emeritus professor of clinical epidemiology and community medicine at the University of Newcastle. He was director of The Centre for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Newcastle until 2000, then was professor of public health in the University of Manchester until retirement in 2006. He is the founder and coordinator of the Peoples-uni (http://peoples-uni.org).
