All out war: media coverage of for-profit higher education

Tim Gramling’s study, “All Out War: Media Coverage of For-Profit Education,” recently published in SAGE Open, systematically charts the frequency and intensity of stories about for-profits in the news since Barack Obama’s election in November 2008. Focusing on how the U.S. government and for-profits themselves drove this coverage, Gramling describes how this divide both facilitates information exchange, and employs personalization and fragmentation.
